Today is an incredible day in history! Like millions of people around the world, I just watched President Barack Obama get sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. Is it just me, or does there seem to be an overwhelming sense of hope and possibility and change in the air?

I’m beyond excited about President Obama’s vision for change, and it is incredible to see how the people of the United States, and the world, have joined together to support the idea of making positive progress in the world…through compassion, peace, understanding, and respect. How about you? Did you watch the inauguration? Does this day have any special significance to you?

Happy (belated) New Year Smart Girls!

I’m so excited to present the newly redesigned Smart Girls Know blog! My personal tech guy (a.k.a. my husband) put together this new site for me, since one of my (many) goals for 2009 was to start the new year with a fresh face for my blog and a commitment to posting a ton more news, info, contests, and interviews for smart girls everywhere.
